Hi, I am Blake Ashton, a therapist-in-training completing my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Denver. My goal is to meet every child where they are, building trust, sparking curiosity, and giving them the freedom to explore, make mistakes, and discover who they are in an environment that always feels like a safe place to land. When children feel genuinely supported, they gain the confidence to take on new challenges and develop the emotional skills they carry with them for life.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint John’s University which is located in Collegeville, Minnesota. During my time at Saint John’s University, I worked as an assistant teacher at a pre-school in Minnesota that served children with and without disabilities. This is where my passion for working with kids merged with my professional goals of wanting to be a therapist. I have worked with kids in many other capacities throughout my life, such as being a youth sports coach, a camp counselor, and babysitting as well. All of these experiences have shaped me into the person I am today. Throughout these experiences I have learned that every child is so unique and requires their own personal level of care, and that is what I hope to do here at Early Childhood Wellness Place!
In my free time I enjoy watching sports, exploring the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with friends.
