Speech Language Pathologist
As a Colorado native, Emily loves sharing her passions for speech, language, and cognition in her home state. After spending time studying communication disorders and child development throughout the U.S. and abroad, she returned home to begin her career as a pediatric Speech Language Pathologist.
Emily received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Pittsburgh. While completing her undergraduate degree, she had the opportunity to study child development and diversity in multicultural contexts throughout Europe and Asia. Her experiences abroad helped her become a sensitive and culturally competent clinician. Throughout her educational career, Emily also explored her passion for research in the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Her interests in developing valid and reliable assessments and intervention methods have carried into her clinical practice, as she is constantly seeking to provide the most effective means of services for her clients and caregivers.
Emily has treated clients of all ages in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, clinics, and in the home. Her primary interests include articulation and phonology, including dysarthria and Childhood Apraxia of Speech, receptive and expressive language, reading and writing, cognitive-communication, alternative and augmentative communication, and fluency/stuttering disorders. She strongly believes a multidisciplinary approach to therapy fosters the most powerful and successful intervention. As a result, Emily encourages both professionals and caregivers alike to be a part of the treatment process.
When she is not working as a clinician, Emily loves to dance and spend time in the beautiful state of Colorado. She is also passionate about traveling the world and is always planning her next adventure abroad.
